Since one of the questions posed in this project was determining how to install a well, a connection could be made to high school earth science students when discussing rock layers, aquifers, and the geology of different regions of the country.
Another example to tie into an elementary age group would be to take the class on a field trip to a pioneer village or historical homestead that has log homes and let the students examine how they were constructed.
This project demonstrates the AASL Standard of the student as the knowledge seeker and the student as the self-directed learner.
